CHROMEBASE

Conventional galvanised chrome-plating is a complex and costly process which due to toxic wastes. Clean-scratches and other mechanical harms also lead very quickly to massive damage in corrosive conditions. Not least due to this fact, physical vapour deposition (abbreviated PVD) is replacing galvanised chrome-plating more and more. The condition for achieving a chrome-like look in the PVD process is a smooth glassy surface of the object to be metallized, as well as its defined thermal expansion properties. Metallic substrates generally have surfaces too rough for direct metallisation. ChromeBase® is a primer which covers roughness and is specially designed for PVD metallisation.
